We booked a group tour package to sunderban from Denzong. Though the price quoted to us was much more than expected for a 3D/2N trip, but still, we paid in expectancy of a return of value in terms of accommodation and food facilities.
As we were 2 girls traveling we wanted to travel in the group for safety reasons. We were given reassurance from your company that even after booking a non AC room, we'll be given similar room at the SAME location. The only difference would be a non-working A.C.. to which we agreed.
Problems we faced:
In spite of repeated requests, we were given a cottage which was in the middle of a very swampy land while all the other families stayed in some other resort!
The VEG meal we asked for was cooked along with the non-veg meal during the lunch.
The dinner meal was kept in the dining room where a cat was sniffing and eating the food meant for us! Let me know if anyone could eat such a food.
The veg meal contained the only potato. For three days we were served different types of potato. For your information, the vegetarian meal does have a lot more variety than just potatoes. No one would PAY to eat such a food.
With just one family by our side, we had to walk to a cottage in the pitch dark of the night, with no other people to communicate.
If this wasn't enough to feel unsafe, the house attendant LOCKED our door from outside! We had to shout from the window to get our room opened.
Even though we were asked to be ready by 7, and No one reported till 9 a.m. with no breakfast.
Next day, we wanted to attend the program scheduled in our itinerary, which was in other resort. And then we were asked to go to our hotel with five boatmen which in no way can be qualified as 'safe'.
What Denzong did:
When we asked for help from the contact person, she stopped receiving our calls.
After making multiple requests (almost 30-40 calls) they initially arranged for a different hotel. When we refused to go alone with five unknown boatmen, Denzong team was extremely rude and defensive.
To take their unprofessional behavior to another level they asked us to manage everything on our own in the middle of nowhere.
